About ipcheckr

ipcheckr is a lightweight, open-source tool that shows the public IPv4 and IPv6 addresses your network uses to reach the internet.

Why ipcheckr?

The project aims to make checking your public IP addresses simple and fast, with IPv6 treated as a first-class part of the internet. It is free to use, open source, and has no ads.

How it works

ipcheckr is a small HTML and JavaScript application. It checks your connection from your browser using STUN (Session Traversal Utilities for NAT) and HTTPS requests to CDN services. The returned addresses are the public addresses those services see for your connection.

Results are resolved in your browser rather than by a dedicated ipcheckr backend. Your requests still contact the STUN and CDN services used for the checks.

Privacy and open source

ipcheckr does not use tracking cookies or display ads. As the site uses CDN services, those providers may set cookies needed for their services. The source code is available on GitHub so you can see how the application works.
